Blue Dragon

The original SeaDragon designs were developed somewhere around 2008 or 2009, while I was in college. And by "developed" I mean I did one round of sketches for class and then used the first set of shapes I liked and could successfully model in the 3D program. The small SeaDragon II shape was developed in the wee hours of 2015, when I worked 3rd shift and couldn't cast anything at all. It didn't become a physical reality until several years later.

But since then, I've kept up a fairly steady stream of variations, including the somewhat accidental development of the Micro SeaDragon, which is the same shape as the Small but only 1 centimeter long.

I keep meaning to get a family photo of all of these variations together, preferably with a similar paint job. And I've finally succeeded! While this isn't quite the full lineup of every single size, it covers all the major sizes.

Not shown: the 'other' large size, and earring sizes Mini and Micro

This colorway is inspired by the Glaucus Atlanticus or Blue Dragon sea slug:

I've also been practicing my stone setting 😎 Two of the pieces pictured have natural blue sapphires, and another has three Cubic Zirconia.

(Under absolutely no circumstances is anyone allowed to look at these stone settings under magnification! 😅 I've polished and cleaned the pendants and the stones are still in, so I think they're fine, just very messy.)

Anyway, I'm delighted to have this family photo, and ready to make more! I hope someday I can run a series of stones down the whole central spine and really make the entire thing sparkle.
